Munich's good beer and the city's cosy pubs delight Munich residents as much as their guests from all over the world. Munich has a very old brewing tradition that dates back to the beginning of the 14th century.
The three-and-a-half-hour tavern tour in Munich's old town takes you to places that are closely linked to the culture and history of Munich beer and to places where it is enjoyed in the typical Munich way. The tour therefore includes a short stop at the Munich Hofbräuhaus and a visit to the Beer and Oktoberfest Museum, as well as a stop at traditional Munich restaurants (such as the Weisses Bräuhaus, the Museumsstüberl in the Beer and Oktoberfest Museum and ‘Der Pschorr’ at Viktualienmarkt), where you will be served samples of Munich beers and typical Bavarian dishes such as veal sausage, pretzels and other savoury and sweet delicacies.
What does Munich beer have to do with the Munich Opera and which famous composer from Munich married into an old brewing dynasty? Your guide is looking forward to answering these questions and discovering with you many other links between beer enjoyment and cultural life in Munich.
